About

Janet H. Metcalf,
Yuma Family Lawyer

Janet’s practice is small and client-focused. A client is not just another file, but a person she gets to know from start to finish of a case. While Janet does not pretend to offer the services of a large law firm, she offers individualized attention to each client’s case with a focus on detail. She always looks for the glass hidden in the grass.

Janet practices in all areas of family law, including divorce, paternity, legal decision-making, parenting time, grandparent rights, relocation, division of retirement assets, spousal maintenance and child support. She provides representation for order of protection issues and advice pertaining to claims of criminal conduct stemming from domestic relations matters.

Janet has handled hundreds of family law hearings and trials, and her court experience ranges from the simple to the complex. Outside of court, she has settled hundreds of family law matters when settlement makes sense. Settlements, where possible, have saved her clients the expense and emotional drain of litigation, as well as the possibility of a negative outcome in court, an ever present possibility when parties are unable to resolve their issues.

Clients appreciate Janet’s attention to detail as she spends time getting to know her clients in order to understand their goals so she can help them make decisions through some of the toughest times in their lives.
